Day 81 (Sunday Dec 12th)
"Why did he only eat one pigeon egg?!"
"Why did he only eat one pigeon egg?!"
I woke up at my usual time and we went to Tillamook cheese factory to do their "self-guided tour" and we got to see the production line. Martin was most intrigued by the guys who put the off-cuts on the bits of cheese that don't weight enough, I was most intrigued by the beard masks. There were some free samples of the most popular cheeses and Martin decided to buy some off-cuts of the garlic chili cheese. We went grocery shopping at Fred Meyer in Tillamook and then headed home. Natalie made a salad with cous-cous and then later on she made some delicious yakisoba. While Natalie was cooking, Martin and I watched Bear Grylls trying to survive in an abandoned factory. We then watched Legend Of The Bog which I really regretted watching for a second time.______________________________________________________
Day 82 (Monday Dec 13th)
"You've been stuffed!"
"You've been stuffed!"
I planned to get up early but that obviously didn't happen. We headed up the coast and briefly stopped at Cannon Beach before we got to Astoria. We went to the shop from The Goonies, which is now a coffee shop, and I had a hot chocolate. Then we walked down to the docks and saw a few sea lions. Natalie wanted to check out an art gallery so we drove into town but both galleries were closed. Martin and Natalie were all out of ideas so I suggested we go to the Fort George Brewery where they served us beer in jam jars which confused me for a bit. The Reeds had a sausage platter but I refused to eat anything because I wanted to continue the tradition of not eating out while I was staying with them. We headed home at around 5pm and Martin made some burritos, he only cooked six so I filled myself up with some leftover chili. Max had recommended a film to us but other than starring Napoleon from Bill & Ted it was almost unwatchable so we ended up watching the wonderful Thankskilling. Before bed-time Martin played with the cats for about an hour. It was strangely fascinating just watching them chase a shoelace.
